RoHS DIRECTIVE: RoHS And Lead-Free Requirements

The RoHS Directive stands for “the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances” in electrical and electronic equipment.  The Directive bans the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants. EECO Switch is fully committed to complying with the current European directives regarding RoHS and Lead-Free electronic components.  In response to these directives, we have developed a lead-free plating alternative.

SWITCH COMPLIANCE

Essentially all switch products are compliant with the RoHS Directive. All RoHS compliant parts are clearly identified by a logo on the part, and by a label on the shipping tube.

A Certificate of Compliance for affected products is available here.

KEYPAD COMPLIANCE

All membrane switches manufactured after July 1, 2006 comply with the RoHS 2002/95/EC Directive. Since we may continue to stock some non-RoHS inventory for non-EU countries, please call (800) 854-3808 for specific compliance information.
